No Better Time to Publish a Book Than Now
“I want you to take action. I want you to utilize your writing to help you make a difference.” —Azul Terronez
There are a lot of reasons to write a book, and many of them are important to our business, our life, or our legacy. But often I notice that when people talk about wanting to write a book, it’s often just that—talk. I want you to overcome just talking about writing a book and actually take action to do it.
On this week’s episode of “Authors Who Lead,” I talk about the six reasons you should write a book now and how our coaching programs can help you take action today.
Uniqueness Is Important
The first of the six things you should consider when writing a book is that it’s time to share your unique perspective. We’re drowning in content. This is why I’m not worried about Chat GPT or any kind of AI writing. We don’t need more information; we need your unique perspective on your subject.
Establish Authority
The second reason is that writing a book can build your credibility and authority overnight. A book takes commitment and shows your understanding and expertise. Even the media sees authorship as a strong marker for authority and credibility.
Build Income
The third reason to write a book now is that you could start creating income, especially if you self-publish. Income can come from more than just royalties on your published book; it can also come from leveraging opportunities such as speaking or growing your business.
Leave a Legacy
Writing a book can leave a lasting legacy behind. Even if you don’t ever publish your book, it can be a powerful message to leave behind for your family and friends.
Skills and Content
Writing a book can do more than just help you hone your writing and communication skills. It can help you create a large amount of content that can be repurposed in multiple places. Pieces of your work can do double duty as blog posts, social media, workshop materials, and more!
Procrastination
The sixth reason I think you should consider writing a book right now is that you’re only ever in this present moment. Today is the only day you’ll ever have, not because tomorrow may not come, but because when you get to tomorrow, it will be the present moment. It will be today. So, don’t keep putting off writing your book for tomorrow.
In this podcast, I also share three ways “Authors Who Lead” can help you finish your book:
- Author Apprentice Program. This program is the most affordable at 90 days for $90. Here you can join a writing community, sign up for accountability times to write, and meet other author leaders as you write and publish your book.
- Dedicated Author Program. This program is for those who want to go at their own pace to write and publish their books. Along with everything that the Author Apprentice Program offers, the Dedicated Author also provides access to course materials, group coaching calls, and workshops.
- Mentored Author Program. If you are on track to write, publish, and market your book within twelve months, this program is for you. You will write your book with a small cohort and have the support and guidance of writing coaches. Once you’ve finished your book, we have access to award-winning graphic artists and editors from our publishing company, Mandala Tree Press. We are looking for ten authors to join this twelve-month program—apply today!
I’m so grateful that you listened to this podcast. I appreciate anybody who leaves a review; it really helps inspire us to keep contributing and giving content here.
