The 5 Fastest Career Paths to Wealth Beyond Your Wildest Imagination
“If you are going to get to a hundred million, you’re not gonna get to any of your goals if you’re not healthy.” —Emmy Sobieski
Emmy Sobieski was told she was too old to get into corporate investing, so she started her own company coaching investment. During this time, she offered courses about investing and the five fastest careers to build wealth. She now works for Robbie Crabtree of Competitive Storytelling, who encouraged her to write her book.
In this episode of “Authors Who Lead,” I talk with Emmy about her book, $100M Careers: The 5 Fastest Career Paths to Wealth Beyond Your Wildest Dreams, why she wrote it, and how you don’t have to be the smartest person in the room in order to build wealth.
Writing a Book on Wealth
I enjoyed reading Emmy’s book and appreciate how she gives so much clarity and simplicity to the world of abundance. I expected a lot of math and numbers, but she also talks eloquently about how you can work hard to make all the money in the world, but if you are sick, you won’t even enjoy it. So along with wealth management, she urges people to prioritize proper nutrition, moving their bodies, and supporting their mental health.
Emmy wrote, edited, and published her book in nine months. As someone who is busy working millions of dollars each year, she didn’t have much time to write it. But she was determined and organized and found a ghostwriter and a way of making it her own.
Growing Wealth
Emmy originally expected that the readers of her book would be high school or college graduates just starting out and wanting to know how to make the most of wealth. As she tells us in the podcast, “If you’re going to make a hundred million dollars with a fair amount of certainty, you need to have a plan.” So it would make sense for young adults to be interested in her book. But she was surprised that a lot of feedback and questions came from people in their mid-careers who already had earned a million dollars and wanted to know how to multiply their money. These are the people she urges “to keep the gas on and compound” their money.
In this podcast, Emmy also shares with us:
- How to make the ghost-writing process your own
- That we all have the same amount of time in a day—we just need to prioritize what’s important
- How having no fear of asking dumb questions will get you successful results
- That the definition of big money is freedom
- That you shouldn’t focus on the 80/20; focus instead on the one thing that will make everything else easier
- The two reasons slowing down will actually get you to your successful goal faster
