[01:15] The Birth of The Amazing Seller Podcast

Scott started the podcast to share his journey in the Amazon space, selling physical products.

He and his wife initially started a photography business and ended up entering the online space. He saw an opportunity on Amazon and began to see quick wins. Then he decided to start the podcast to share this journey.

[04:00] The Take Action Effect

The book is about Scott’s journey and the lessons he learned along the way.

We all have the capability of doing. It’s a matter of getting up our own way.

Every failure is a learning experience. You don’t fail unless you stop trying. Everything you do builds upon each other and it creates a skillset.

There are these things we can’t do just because we don’t know what we need to do because we’re afraid of putting ourselves out there.

[10:05] How to Take Action When You Feel Frozen

Surround yourself with like-minded people. No matter what level of success you’re in, we all have these fears.

Identify those things you’re a rockstar at. There are things that you’ve done which people have come to ask for your advice about. Or maybe you’re the top salesperson in your division.

What are you doing this for? Identify what you want to be known for, who you want to serve, and who should you serve.

[14:55] Self-Sabotaging Behaviors and How to Overcome Them

If you have this mindset of being “not smart enough” or you compare yourself to other people, remind yourself of all the great things you’ve done.

Have people in your life that help push you and believe in yourself.

[17:05] The Book-Writing Process

You don’t have to do this alone. One of Scott’s weaknesses is sitting down and just writing by himself. He hired a book coach and they hit it off.

Capitalize on your strengths. Being someone who likes to talk, Scott wants to speak it, look at it, and help shape it.

[20:35] How to Find a Person You Can Trust to Take Action With

Model or follow someone that does have what you’re looking for. You don’t have to copy them but use them as your model.

[23:22] The Biggest Thing That Can Hold You Back

We all have this fear of uncertainty. Be sure of your why. What is the thing that’s going to light you up now, not five years ago but – now? And this may change eventually.

Everything you do builds a skillset. It’s one you’re probably going to plug into the next project in some way, shape, or form.

2 things to ask yourself:

  1. Why do you want to leave your job?
  2. If you don’t take this leap or you don’t start moving in this direction, what will your life look like 12 months from now because you didn’t actually do it?

[26:33] The Importance of Dreaming Big and Creating a Plan

Why do we limit ourselves and shrink our dreams? When you’re a kid, it’s endless what you can do. But as you get older, they start to shrink because you start to conform to what society thinks that you should be.

Dream big. Just because you don’t think that’s possible, you still allow yourself to be there.

There needs to be action. However, people fail to create the roadmap. What do you need to do to achieve your dream? You need to figure out your target so you can shoot for it. You need to create a plan. Then go backwards and create your strategy.

Learn through the process. Constantly learn about new things. Don’t be afraid to take a risk.

[36:33] Creating the Bond Before the Payoff

How do you become of value to the market? Regardless of your industry, it’s always about serving your customers and giving them more than what they ask for.

Build a relationship first and the reward will come later. Build the “know, like, and trust.” Do that and you get an advocate of your business and brand.

Serve everyone. Don’t expect everyone to buy from you, but still, serve everyone.

An email address is a person. Communicate and go deep with that person and you will have a fan for life.
